Use Periscope to Build Your Network Marketing/ Direct Sales Biz

  • Post last modified:April 13, 2023

Every savvy network marketing/direct sales professional knows that an important part of growing your biz involves finding new leads and staying connected to your current customers and business partners.

Luckily, today’s digital world provides you with lots of great tools to help you stay connected so you can build quality relationships that lead to more business.

You’re probably already familiar with many of the social media tools that are dominating the landscape, but how much do you know about Periscope? It’s becoming a favorite tool of many home-based entrepreneurs.

What is Periscope?

Compared to Facebook and Pinterest, Periscope is fairly new on the app/social media scene. It’s been around for only a little over a year. Twitter launched Periscope in March of 2015, after acquiring the mobile based app for $100 million.

Since then, the app has grown in popularity. According to a recent article from Medium.com, “over 200 million broadcasts have been created on Periscope and over 110 years of live video are watched every day on iOS and Android.”

The ability to stream live video and audio makes Periscope one of the most unique social media apps available today. Users can watch or create content from anywhere, anytime directly from their IOS- and Android-enabled phones. (All you need is a Twitter account and the Periscope app.)

What makes Periscope so cool is that it allows you to have real-time audience interaction with others. Your team (or customers, or potential business builders) can comment, ask questions, and like your content, which show up in the form of hearts. And, since the app is connected to your Twitter account, your followers will receive a notification whenever you go live.

How Can You Use Periscope to Build Your Biz?

Many big corporate brands, bloggers, and people on YouTube are already using Periscope to build a community of followers and get their message out. As a network marketing/direct sales professional, you can do the same thing.

Periscope can help you generate leads, connect with your team, customers, and other leaders in your company.

You can use Periscope to:

  • Demonstrate your products, announce sales/special promotions or new launches
  • Host live Q and A about your products or opportunity
  • Promote upcoming training or business opportunity events
  • Share personal development tips or book suggestions
  • Showcase your lifestyle adventures (featuring you and/or people on your team)
  • Share behind-the-scene footage of training events or your company conferences
  • Share interviews with top leaders in your company or trainers
  • Showcase or introduce top performers from your team
  • Hold team meetings – share updates or training with your downline
  • Lead an on-line opportunity meeting, and share more about your business

All you need to tap into the power of Periscope is the willingness to put yourself out there. The more you do, the better you’ll get at using this powerful tool. The key is to be yourself – be authentic and genuine, and people will love interacting with you.

One thing to note – your Periscope broadcasts last only 24 hours. If you want to save your recording, click “autosave broadcasts” in the settings. You will find your video in your phone’s video gallery.

You can then upload your files to your Facebook page or groups, share on your website/blog or add to your YouTube channel. Once you’ve transferred the file, be sure to delete it from your phone so it doesn’t eat up all your memory.
